Whilst down in the area I decided I would go one better than Google Earth and actually take the wife, in person to the various bases in the area. I think she thoroughly enjoyed the 500 kms on the Friday, stopping to take in various service station toilets, she also tried her luck at Logging which she did really well at, i reckon i might be able to decipher what she wrote down by early July (2029). I even managed to treat her to interview with the police and a empty the car at Istres, I think this was one of her favourites, as she hasn't stopped telling people since our return.
Anyway, early on Thursday arrived at Orange to hopefully get some Rafale action, by 11 am, it was time to go, with only one departure, that i managed to miss, repositioning the car. After visiting the mini museum at the main gate of Orange, we plugged in the what three words for Orange Museum.
On arrival we noticed that the base museum didnt open until 3 pm, i did notice however that there was an embankments that you could walk along and see in, this can be found at what three words : essentially.rugged.plaiting
We were just about to climb the small hill, when the gates of the Museum opened to allow a group of classic car enthusiast out of the Museum, taking a chance i approached the guy on the gate who told me he was open at 3 and it was 3 Euros, in broke French, i asked if we could quickly nip round and i would donate EURO 20, he agreed. A quick dart round enabled the following to be shot, exhibits are close together so i would recommend a short lens, or fish eye.

And that was that, missus seemed pleased at running round a open field in 30oC with no shade and just old planes, she tried taking a log whilst i photographed, but her loggings included Mirage and 1946, which was a celebratory year on the special marks mirage :-)
All in all an enjoyable and worthy visit.
