HMS Sultan 'The Historics'

For the recent HMS Sultan Heritage Open Day tours there was a small display of aircraft and helicopters associated with the Royal Navy plus an intruding Tornado....

Thanks for sharing these, nice selection of shots. I think that's the last Wasp there, it was one of the instructional airframes at Fleetlands over forty years ago. The Tornado arrived over five years ago, I've no idea why it what they do with it either. But there still seems to be a lot of airframes stored there.

My brain said I'd seen that Wasp when I toured in 2009 but I couldn't remember it like that

It was in Black markings when I saw it!

Would not have thought they would repaint it unless as part of painter training?
