RAF Binbrook 22 October 1985 - PRIORY 2/85

Post by 3Greens » Fri Jan 19, 2024 3:43 pm

As has been mentioned the 'PRIORY' exercises provided quite a number of visiting NATO aircraft to the U.K. bases.
Here's my selection of the visiting Dutch and Norwegian participants working from Binbrook, noted on 22nd October 1985
The F-5's especially for Paddyboy

Another great selection of memories. Early F-16s and Norwegian F-5s, thanks for sharing these with us.

Hello Keith, brilliant as usual mate and another I remember thanks to these excellent pictures. Those Norwegian Falcons look sooooo clean!! I remember seeing them against a more typical Binbrook dark sky one afternoon and they stood out like a sore thumb :D

Thanks for the memories yet again Keith 👏🏻👌

Cheers Glenn 👍

Lovely set, very nice indeed.

We visited Binbrook quite a few times back in those days but missed these.
Would loved to have seen them, back then from the F-16 standpoint, but nowadays I would have appreciated the F-5s but our intel on visitors was very poor back then.

Enjoyed viewing these, thanks for sharing

Brilliant stuff. Don't think I got to Binbrook for that particular Priory but I've shed loads of slides and negs to scan so who knows what I'll discover eventually.

Thanks to all for the comments much appreciated.
Hard to believe that these were 38 years ago :O - to see the F-16A's was just awesome as they were relatively new.

Thanks again, will see what else I can dig out

Cracking set there Keith. I was also there on the Tues p.m. It was the half term hols and we were at my parents caravan in Brid. Heard mention of the exercise on the local lunchtime news, jumped in the car and hightailed it over the Humber Bridge just in time to catch the afternoon action.
