Typhoon and Tornados Tanking

Post by Andyph » Mon Dec 04, 2023 9:39 am

Shame it was a grey day but a last flight for me in a VC-10.
Not the best photos and Tornados were never really my favorite but makes me a bit nostalgic looking at these...
and 17 Sqn didn't fly Typhoons for long either

Lovely set Andy, thanks for sharing (you lucky....person you! ;) ). Have to say I hadn't realised that the refueling probe location was different on the F3 and GR variants....

Yeah it was the one when it was P***ing down at Brize. We boarded and they could not start the engines - full of water!
We will give it last go says the Captain - - great the engines have started - but the delay meant all the chicks had canx.
Fortunately all came together (apart from the light) once we launched.

Think it was day 1 of a Wycombe Warrior - was hoping for foreigners

If you are who I remember - you spent ages taking off the clear visions panels up and down the aircraft! :)

seems getting seats on these is much harder now?

Used to be as easy as emailing Anna!

I don't live in the UK but might ask next time I'm back.

RNZAF and RAAF generally pretty helpful in my part of the world if you ever come over.
