Given that this airframe still exists I wasn't sure if it qualified for this section but it was 35 Years's ago and if memory serves the first B1B to cross the pond to our shores.

It came over with 86-0099 that went into the static at Ramstein show the same weekend. I was at that show at Ramstein 35 years ago, the day of the Frecce crash.

Yes I remember the tragic crash which at the time made it a very sobering journey back home that day.I should also have mentioned the reason for posting as everyone will be aware it’s currently at Fairford.

Oddly enough, the star of the show for me personally was the (unexpected) final appearance of a German F-104G :thumb:
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

I saw this arrive on the Thursday before the show ( luckily working at the base commissary at the time), we were allowed to go and view all participants on the airfield on the Friday evening because we worked for the MOD, Cannot believe it's 35 years ago.

I was there with my mate, it was great little show and seeing this beauty on static was amazing and as pre internet and jungle drums it was completely unexpected.
