Nice!

I see that some of these Hogs have the 'Batelle Device' (Gun Gas Diverter) fitted to the gun muzzles. This was a short lived contraption that was designed to divert the gun gasses away from being ingested by the engines.
The device never really worked very well, and many aircraft did suffer excessive vibrations caused by the gun gas diverters. Some even had cracks appear in the aircraft nose as a result :O . Probably the reason why they were short lived?

And there's plenty more where that came from!

Wish we could get one to place on display at the Bentwaters Cold War Museum, that would be just awesome.

Great shots by the way, 'Commie corner' where the plane spotters/photographers used to gather is looking a bit overgrown now !!

Great memories of seeing these, they seemed to get everywhere. I went on a couple of base tours at Bentwaters in the eighties, which were good. Thanks for sharing these with us.

Very nice set of photos. I have lots of happy memories of watching one of my favourite aircraft at one of my favourite airfields up in that corner.

One minor comment. The fifth photo isn't of 81-0998, which was never an 81TFW aircraft. I think it's 81- 0988.

@f3 - I think that's the 510TFS, 81TFW.
