Once in the west Reno 27/9/95. Gordon

Post by Gordsmith » Sun Aug 07, 2022 9:00 am

These shots are from an "Open Day" at the ANG base Reno. It was not an airshow but a fare well to the "High Rollers" RF-4C All were welcome but, to my surprise very few non "Roller" people were there. (I do know of one newly wed Brit who "rolled" up!). Some of these images are very similar but "what the heck" it was a lovely day with very few people. so I just kept shooting! As you may see there were a couple of other movements on the base. Regards Gordon.

Great set.
Great catch of the atmosphere of the day and the base.

Love the RF-4C and RF-4E :thumb:

What's not to like. Cracking shots of much missed aircraft type. One lucky guy being afforded such a photo opportunity.

Superb!
My departed pal was a UK fireman and was invited to attend one of the RF4C events and told me about a water hosing, might even have been on the same visit as yours. Never made Reno myself, pity.
Many thanks for sharing them.

I remember the ‘High Rollers’ visiting Alconbury in probably the eighties but could have been the early nineties, super time’s. Great shots by the way 👍
