Five a day - Part 60

Post by haveblue » Thu Feb 17, 2022 4:12 pm

A few non-standard Hunter twin-sticks today. No shortage of these airframes up here once upon a time between the RAF and the RN/FRADU. Pics 1 and 2 are the same airframe taken some time apart. The last two were the only ones of these I photographed at Lossie, although I believe they were based at Brawdy or Chivenor at the time (but, as usual, I stand by to be corrected on that).

Thanks for sharing these, another classic type sadly missed. I never saw any of the Singaporean aircraft unfortunately.

Superb.

As mentioned before the best looking jet (ever).

Like a Jaguar E type.
Ideally for your cruise down the countryside. :pop:

Agree with Canberra!. A friend had a ride with Delta Jets black one years ago. I video'd all the happenings with someone else's camera. It had no tape in it!!.      My embarrassment didn't last too long. Sadly he died in a road accident shortly after. R.I.P. J.C.

I remember seeing these ex-Singapore AF Hunters parked on Bravo and being a bit annoyed when I couldn't be around for their departure. If I remember correctly the UK bought them back from Singapore. The RAF must've been in a hurry to get them into service still having their green/brown camouflage and Singapore AF serial.

Lovely shots of 321 in ripple and 563 in that scheme was just stunning, in some ways a shame it was rippled.

Best looking aircraft ever. Worked on the FGA9s and T7s of 45 (and then 58) squadron when I was at Wittering.
