More Navy pistons from the 70's

Post by dennis273 » Wed Dec 22, 2021 2:45 pm

A based Mildenhall Naval Air Facility C131 and a visitor from Rota.

Whilst the Rota machines were regular visitors they always seemed to avoid the days I was there- took me years to get a picture of one!

Sounds you are unlikely to hear very often these days :)

Very nice indeed, I remember the Mildenhall ones trundling around in the 70’s early 80’s very well.

Beauties... 141009 I only ever saw once when I was but a very young lad... stopped off at RAF St Mawgan and it was parked up. Dad told me what it was and I'm sure we watched it take off. Must have been about 1980. Also remember the 7 Sqn Canberras parked up near the C131.
Those were the days...

We used to get the Mildenhall 131s at Aberdeen frequently, thanks for your posts.
Cheers.

Excellent ! Brings back memories, managed to fly on 141009 Macrihanish - Brawdy - St Mawgan - Mildenhall. Proper machines to fly in.

So glad I got the Sigonella one of these at Air Fete 86 - such a good sound as well as an historic airframe!

Keep them coming Dennis :thumb:
