All are brilliant but these 3 especially. The MH-53 refuelling was something seldom seem and never to be seen again! Also like the 'Beserker' artwork on the MC-130

Still shooting slides in 2004 :@ :@ - think I was at this for the departures day only :O

Cheers and look forward to more

Thanks for sharing these, another great RIAT and some quality rarities. Sadly in the past few years it's never been to this standard.

Superb memory's its hard to believe how many of these types no longer grace our sky's, if the impossible was possible and they got all that back for the next show ( whenever that will be) i would pay double to get in !

Not much chance of seeing this level of of content ever again.
Though, the chance of 'paying double' is highly likely ! ;)

Great post Nick. Love looking back at the early noughties as it's such an overlooked time for airshows. It didn't have the same epicness of the 90s but there were plenty of highlights at shows that were almost taken for granted at the time.

I was particularly pleased with the MH-53 refuelling shot. V-22s are cool, but I preferred the MH-53s, and was very sad when they were retired.

These were taken with a Canon EOS D30 - at its maximum capability of just 3.25 megapixels!

They did it every time they flew until (I think) the Sunday, when I recall hearing on my scanner the tower giving the crew a dressing down because some of the runway edge lights broke in the blast from the engines!

Cheers Nick - appreciate those. The 'Dust Devils' were the best - especially that departure in 2007 (glad I was on digital by then!)

All the best

Quick count. I think at least 25 aircraft (sub)types are gone from different armed forces. :'(

Great selection

Wow, now that is a great set of shots.

So many types now gone.

You forget how good the show actually was.
