Quantico 1997 B-25D

Post by sschofield11 » Thu Oct 29, 2020 12:46 pm

Had the good fortune to visit the museum at Quantico in the summer of 97, most inmates where inside so no good photo's. There was this B-25D outside with no serial on it. I have this as 43-3308 but have seen another aircraft quoted. Can anyone confirm.

Nice pic! Looking back at a museums guide from about 1992, it says that it's 43-3308 painted to represent a PBJ-1D. It's former IDs are listed as KL156, N8011, HP-428 and CP-315. The c/n is quoted as 100-23634. But looking in the last museums book by Bob Ogden which was published a few years ago, it's no longer listed at Quantico. So wonder where it is now?

Planebase has it at the Freedom Museum, Pampa, TX, still as a PBJ-1D
But has history
43-3308, KL156, N8011, CP-914

It can't be KLK156 so that's a typo, but looking at the latest issue of the Bob Ogden museums book, it shows the previous IDs as per my earlier QR. It's on page 574 of the book if anyone interested. The museum also has a UH-1H, F-4E and a USCG S-61R Pelican. If it's still open, might have more by now.
