The "Fabled" Mildenhall Book !!!
So Gentlemen (and ladies of course), I have a plea.....
Mick is busy beavering away, writing chapters for the book we had previously proposed and I am now on the hunt for photos to use. At this point in time I am looking for contributions from the Air Fetes in the 1970S ONLY (I'll move on to the 80's and 90s later).
There are certain contributors on here who have already come forward with stuff from these shows, but I fear that the shots from theAir Fetes in the 70s are going to be fewer to choose from.
I'm interested in hearing from ANYONE who has photos from these shows, but to give you an idea. below is a list of aircraft that I would really like shots of....
1976 Bicentennial show
USN C-1
USAF C-5
Belgian F-104
Diablo Rouge Magisters
4x LN F-4D flypast
1977
YF-16
YC-14
YC-15
USN E-2
RAF Vulcan flying
Patrouille de France Magisters
1978
LN F111
Portuguese T37s
Austrian Saab 105
French Jaguars / Mirage 3
USAF EC121 Warning star
Canadian F104 Red Indians team
1979
Blue Heron Hunters
Frecce G91s
Red Arrows Gnats
WWII bomber formation (There was a flypast by Sally B, the A26 and a B25)
USN P-3
Dutch F-104
Italian DC9 or C130
Thanks in advance
Jon

Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?

You are OK for the '60s presumably? Not that I know where my photos taken at the '69 event are, but I do remember a B-58 Hustler being present.

All of the shows prior to 1976 were, technically, not Air Fetes....the Bicentennial show was the first as far as we know. The others were marketed as "Armed ForcesDays". As such they are kinda out of scope for the book, although they will get a.mention and a few photos probably included.
If you do have photos for the shows then I may well be in contact if that's ok?

Guys, when you've finished this "fabulous fantastic" book, would you consider (I'm Daniel in the lion's den here
) a book on IAT at Greenham Common?

Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.

Just like to add a subject which I consider 'essential' to the '76 list; the 20 TFW F-111 in the bi-centennial colour scheme the most distinct element of which was the white fin.

Hi John,
You triggered something off in the memory about the 1977 year, but when I searched, all I'd got was some very old 'Super 8' Cine film with all the noise, dust and appearance of being taken through a milk bottle.
Still, great memories and hope you get lucky with some decent shots. I'll be looking out for the book.
Here are some very dodgy stills just for the memories:
Boeing YC-15

Everyone seemed to walk through the Galaxy then

Pre calendar style programme

I had got some of the Patrouille de France Magisters, but at Farnborough '72.
Cheers Bob.
