EC-137D Mildenhall

Post by PaulN » Mon Mar 23, 2020 8:27 am

Hi Guys

After MUCH frustration with photobucket and Flickr in the past I think I might have sorted things out :S

For a trial to see if it works here is a poor pic , but a record shot of EC-137D 11408 at Mildenhall , in I think 1975 , it later went on to become an E-3 along with 11407 . I am not sure if this was not the first visit of the type to the UK during its European tour along with the Lufthansa Boeing 727 as support

Once again sorry for the quality , it was taken from The Bird In Hand car park

Stay well everyone

Cheers

Paul

As views from pub car parks go, that's not a bad one at all. Wish my local had a view like that. :)

Great to see you posting some of your rare images again Paul! Can just about remember the view from the car park across to the ramp before the buildings went up / vegetation grew!

Stay safe mate

I photographed 71-1408 on approach to runway 29 on 7 April 1975. The Lufthansa B727 was wearing N87790.

Blue Diamond , Wasnt a bad pub , till they modernized it ...on that note does anyone here have a shot of the bar with the SAC band and patches :S

CastleDon Would love to see a better pic of it , thanks for confirming the date  It was sitting there all day , was hoping it would move , but it didnt , hence the only shot I could get of it as the light was fading

Paul

Hope you don't mind but by the Power of Greyskull I've managed to remove some of the colour cast ;)

Paul

I'm sure it can be done, but it's not my speciality :P

I do a fair bit of removing things with Photoshop but it would need a much higher resolution shot before you could even consider if it was possible
The lamp post would be fairly easy though!

For info, the Lufthansa 727 was still owned by Boeing at the time and wasn't actually delivered to Lufthansa until 2.5.75

Cheers
