A Victor valediction

Post by paddyboy » Wed Feb 05, 2020 3:45 pm

Hi Peeps :P

Forgive yet another banal title

Having seen Darren's superb Victor shots, I found a few less worthy ones of my own ;)

Once again, you can see the usual culprits, venue-wise

Haven't a clue about all that 'smoke' :S

Hope they are worth a peek ;)

Best regards as always

Nice images Patrick. The Victor always seemed to look good from any angle.

One Victor shot mate - only one and does not make up for these!

Superb and thanks for posting - that smoke is great - probably from a heavy landing which is great as all was well although probably shed a few miles on the tread!

See you hopefully in a few weeks

Darren

The smoke is fuel...the reason for it venting so much escapes me

Wow, more tear-jerkers from the Padmeister...
I had 4 fabulous years on these at Marham, 55 Sqn to boot as well !
Absolutely lovely airframe to work on (as an engine trade).
Lots and lots and lots and lots of time on Ascension Island too.
Simply lovely to view.
Keep em coming!

My Dad flew Baltimores and Bostons with 55 during WWII. We went to the 1983 Marham families day and had a good nose round a Victor, it's definitely got something the Vulcan hasn't.

Thanks for posting Paddy.

Cracking set Paddy!

Fairly sure the first time I saw a Victor would have been 1982, when they flew over the SW refuelling the heavily laden Hercs out of Lyneham on route to the South Atlantic

Great pictures Paddy!

That display at Mildenhall was quite memorable and I have my own set of similar pictures. The Victor will forever look futuristic and like something out of Flash Gordon.

Keep scanning...

F-A-R more futuristic than Flash Gordon's machine!
Mind you, when I was watching Flash Gordon, it wasn't around!
