A nice log. I've seen the Libyan C-130s close up in the past so I'm asking for a couple of friends who haven't. Did you see them 'on site', from an aircraft on an overflight or were they clearly visible through the trees?
Regards
Mark

P.S. I think that KC-130J 170285 is coded QB not OD?

Thanks for the log.
83-23981 should read 83-23891

I was fortunate to get the other side of the fence on this trip through a friend who works at LM.
However, 4 Libyans, the Orion and L1011 can be seen from the outside (in autumn/winter when less leaves are on the trees). The place to see these is Davis Road SE (33.899663, -84.518319). Park up and walk along the road or closer to the fence and you will see them. Check Google Street view and you will see what I mean.
Sadly, the other four (which I have noted as the Easterly point) are out of sight unless on base or you fly over.

Great log
my database has the following C130's as also present at Dobbins ARB, they may be in the "military" part of the base rather than the LM part but any information you might have would be welcome.
54-1623 AC130 preserved
63-7791 C130B instructional airframe
64-0566 C130E Stored, will be scrapped.

54-1623 can be found at the Museum. Was seen during my visit
63-7791 is in a hangar and use as an instructional frame
64-0566 - No idea
One I forgot to query was the ID of the C5 fuselage at 33.91790501042016, -84.51517303099315. Any ideas?

Thanks, the only logical answer to the C5 question in 69-0004 which was scrapped at Dobbins back in 2004. thats based on a run down of the production list rather than any knowlege on my part.

Thanks. Yes, I knew about that spot but figured that you must have been on the inside to see all 8.

The C-5 is test article X999. It's sat there for over 30 years.

Thanks, Andy. Not sure how I have missed that on previous visits!
