Red Flag 23-2
In case anyone hasn't noticed, according to the Dreamland Resort Red Flag 23-2 (unconfirmed) has been pushed back a week to start on 13/03/2023
Re: Red Flag 23-2
Has anyone any info on which aircraft will be participating?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Red Flag 23-2
Only known participants I'm aware of are Israeli F-35s and a 707 tanker. Confirmed with images of Red Flag patches.
Re: Red Flag 23-2
It was never pushed back a week. As happens quite a lot, somebody, somewhere along the line who didn't really know posted that it started on the 6th ;-)

Re: Red Flag 23-2
I was only drawing attention to the fact that the Dreamland website has been updated with a new date - that site did tag the original date with "unconfirmed" to be fair
Heard there will be six F-35A from Israel

Re: Red Flag 23-2
Yes, fully appreciate that. I don't think that the Dreamland site was the first to start quoting the 6th...
You are correct about the six F-35As. The F-15Is cancelled.

On my way back to Nellis later this morning
Someone at Luke AFB told me 24 SW F-16 had turned up as well as the Israeli F-35A plus 3 B-1B

Re: Red Flag 23-2
In addition 6 34FS F-35A arrived from Hill AFB
I thought I counted 28 SW on the ramp : two rows of 10 plus a row of 8
Two more NJ vipers arrived ( Devil 11/12) making a total of 12 'AC' coded F-16.
5 B-1B present
Plus the three LI HC-130J and the hornets detailed in scramble
Pity I am not around next week as some of the SW have very striking schemes but I will nip over again early Saturday to take another look
This Friday morning the OT/WA mob were already active by 05:45 local! ( Potted 6 more F-35A and a F-16)
( T-056 A330 was on the deck at KLAS this afternoon - probably a routine flight. My first long overdue Dutch A330)

Re: Red Flag 23-2
Well pleased with that
The light this Saturday morning was perfect and with the help of the very nice information on scramble even I could read all but one of the 28 SW vipers and all of the AC coded F-16 plus all of the Hornet codes.
A nice surprise for me was that as I was reading off the Red Flag participants on Saturday morning a few canopies went up and they did a FOD sweep and sure enough 5 NL EA-18G launched along with 4 WT hornets. Followed by 8 AC vipers and 10 Shaw F-16
The Growlers were using Blinder and Rocket, WT were calling Nitro. The AC were calling Olds , Thud . SW used Rambler and Sword for the 55FS Aircraft and Pulsar for the Tigers 79FS.
I dropped all of the 55FS F-16 but made 9 of the 79FS Tigers.
I noted one F-15D 050/WA parked with the WA F-15E and it was only later that I realized 83-0050/WA was the last WA eagle I needed so couldn't believe my luck as I thought it had gone
At lunchtime while heading back to McCarren I heard Nitro starting up for a Saturday afternoon launch
Thanks to Aussie Dean for his help with the WT BuNo
(Heard AF1 is due into Las Vegas on Thursday?)
28 SW F-16
12 AC F-16
6 HL F-35A
5 NL EA-18G
8 WT F/A-18C/D
5 EL B-1B
3 LI HC-130
3 HH-60J parked by the HC-130J
7 Israeli F-35A
2 Israeli B707
2 USAF E-3
3 USAF KC-135

Re: Red Flag 23-2
Did you get the VH-92A? I was in Summerlin and had it fly over me. Couldn’t get a photo but it was low enough to read United States of America on it. Apparently went to Nellis and into a hangar

Re: Red Flag 23-2
Didn't see the S-92 and I don't know how I missed it unless it arrived after I left at around 13:00
The window for decent photography is very short from the speedway as you are well into the sun until about 2pm and then it gets dark by 6!
C-37 10065 turned up at las Vegas during the afternoon
(Those 86 fiscal AC F-16 were good to me as I needed all of them! Must be ex WP or something, dropped all the 87- vipers )
