Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22
From this article (in Spanish but Google translate will help you) https://www.defensa.com/espana/claves-p ... s-canarias It looks like Ocean Sky is not going on this year.
Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22
Scramble list this exercise as Sirio-22 17-29 Oct
Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22
That's outdated, latest info is from Eurocontrol has this changed to 15-24 Oct. Must admit those are strange dates, Saturday till Monday, guess time will tell.
Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22
Thanks for the replies, I may risk it anyway, I will still see spanish Hornets and get some beach time ! There are worse things I could do !

Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22
Pretty much 100% it is not happening this year. Was told in 2021 the exercise would not take place in 2022 and a friend who is based there also said it is not happening. So unless something has changed there is no Ocean Sky 2022.

Pete

I'm just waiting on a replacement passport to come, if it gets here on time I will go there exercise or no exercise !

Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22
Thanks for letting me know, I may well still go. From previous experience the F-18's are fairly regularly up regardless of an exercise, and I need a holiday !!!

I would also like to know for sure if anything is happening. Thanks Mike Green for your message. Is Sirio 2002 an alternative exercise? If the tanker exercise is still taking place on Lanzarote then surely they will need some aircraft to refuel.
Might have to cancel hotel & rebook flights if nothing happening.
Thanks if anyone can advise.

Yes Sirio 2022 is completely different exercise and there are no media or spotters days plannedeyesinthesky wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 11:22 amI would also like to know for sure if anything is happening. Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22

Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22
Great info thanks. Well at least it looks like Gando will be busy anyway, i'm happy to see just Spanish AF jets. That and some sun, sea and San Miguel and you will not hear me complaining !!
Re: Gando Ocean Sky 22
A Spanish A400 has been shuttling between Badajoz and Las Palmas for the last 2 days. The Spanish AF base their UAV's here so I suspect it's moving ground/support equipment.nellis6 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 2:52 pmYes Sirio 2022 is completely different exercise and there are no media or spotters days plannedeyesinthesky wrote: ↑Wed Aug 31, 2022 11:22 amI would also like to know for sure if anything is happening.
