Thanks! Unfortunately too cloudy

15:00L the Typhoon has been pulled out of the hangar, as well as the front left hornet. The hornet got towed to the main ramp so most likely a visitor, and not a based one.

Great info on the movements and exercise. Does anyone know if there will be an afternoon mission? TIA

If they follow the same trend as yesterday and the day before they should start to launch around 4pm and recover around 6pm. I've seen on FR24 that the French tanker has canx it's flight plan from Lanzarote, and there isn't alot of people on the ground near the jets...

Thanks for the reply. I'll give it another hour and see what happens.

Seems like they're now arriving around the jets, plenty of canopies up on the ramp and 4 of the Ala 46 jets have canopies up and people around them.

And now starting up.

FR24 is showing a couple of Typhoon planned this afternoon from Moron to Gran Canaria

Dollar 11 and Dollar 13 departing Moron at about 14:15L

Could be 4 Typhoons

Assuming FR24 has bona fide flight plan information

Cheers, saw that last night, also an Argentinian herc TC-70 as FAGO 80 and has a scheduled departure of 18:00L but no inbound flight. So will expect that at some point today too.

Also 2 C-295 flights due in, in the afternoon.

What's it like there - can you combine spotting with a 'normal' beach holiday or are you some distance from the resorts - I appreciate it is only a small island?

I have been to Lanzarote and Tenerife but not Gran Canaria

Yes I would say so, most resorts are in the south of the island. Only about 30 minute drive away. We have stayed in Carrizal which is within a 10 walk to spotting the main ramps and HAS site, but not quite as close to many beach's or resorts.

Interestingly there is a hornet with it's nose cone open, which was in the back left when we arrived Tuesday, now it is in the far middle section of the hangar, with 2 others to the right. Unfortunately un readable, but maybe WFU.

F-18 C.15-75 46-03 is being towed to the Ala 46 HAS site (3rd from the left) .

Lots of extinguishers have also been laid out past the F-16's which could mean potentially more visitors.

Mike, I've done it a few times. Stayed at Bahia Feliz, which is a small resort just South of the airport (next to Berriel airfield with the preserved DC6), and I've also stayed in Arguineguin, which is also small and is about half an hour South of the airport.

Be aware that on non-exercise days you might only see a couple of Hornets flying though! Looking forward to them working up on the new Typhoons in the coming years!

Many thanks

Sounds good for an end of Summer break with the g/f

I see FR24 is again showing Typhoons from Moron to Gando this afternoon this time with a AME callsign which sounds more like it
