Any details of the "spotters day" yet, or are we to assume that being Greece, there will not be one?

Greek Air Force can be most accommodating... BUT, on their terms. There's no lee-way for pis*-takers!

We are happy to anounce that on Friday May 13th, 2022 the Eagean Tigers of 335 Mira plan to host a spotters day during the NATO Tiger Meet 2022 excercise.

Belgian Display F-16 confirmed to display on the 15th. Looks like a possible airshow ?

NTM site says Germans have cancelled their participation

Surprised to see the Turks listed as participants.

Registration apparently opened on 14th April, but I only discovered this by chance when re-checking their site this afternoon!

I received the following reply asking me to forward the full reply to the UK embassy in Athens - which I have done

Anyone heard anything back from the organisers yet? It's gone awfully quiet....

How on earth do you lot get time off at such short notice?

I often wonder if the spotters days are really only for the retired!

Just received a reply from the British Embassy in Athens to confirm that I'm on the HAF list for the 13th May Spotter day, that further details will come direct from the organisers and therefore please do not reply to the Embassy's email. Presumably they've done their bit and it's all down to the Tigers now.

2. You are down for 13 May.

3. Instructions and further information will be issued by HAF (and not the Embassy).

Grateful if you could not reply to this email.

The HAF did send today their confirmations, together with the payment instructions.
Payment is to be made via bank transfer.
Swiss are not mentioned.
It looks like we will have to face half the day the sun, but this is only my interpretation of the mail!!!

Well my flights are booked - out on the 12th

( Six hour stop over in Zurich on the way back in day light - bring it on!)

Only just noticed the event is on Friday 13th !

It seems that we will be on the west side. This means until 13:45, we will have the sun against us ...

Cost is racking up - just downloaded a map for the TomTom - £18

I didn't realize it's 180 miles to Araxos from Athens - could be an early start for me!

Don't forget road tolls will be c.€20. Fuel is on a par with the current UK price if not more! It cost me about £75 (tolls/fuel) to get to Andravida from Athens and back for the recent Iniochos exercise.
