New Year Jet Fix - RAF Lakenheath 03/01/14

Post by Viper28 » Fri Jan 03, 2014 10:38 pm

Needs a military jet fix so headed over to RAF Lakenheath to see what was happening. Lots of launches including four 493rd jets heading off to Lithuania, anyway a few shots before the inevitable rain arrived:

They're ALL simply stunning!! The best I've seen on FC for quite some time.

Simon,

A great set of images, great composition and exposure in what appears to be lovely winter light.

Very hard to pick favourites, as they are all fantastic, but for me number 18 and 20, just love the light on them.

Great post

All were taken with a Canon 7D + 300/2.8L IS + 1 .4x TC, TV 1/640th sec ISO 100. The TC was not strictly needed but helped with the touchdown shots.

Yes those were taken around the gate area. I walked over from the viewing area just after the recoveries started (wearing a Red jacket) and spoke to a couple of people, took those and then ran like hell in the rain back!
