** NEON ART ** (lightened version)
Re: ** NEON ART ** (pic heavy)
The ground pics look cluttered with the backgrounds but the flying pics are stunning

Re: ** NEON ART ** (pic heavy)
A couple of those Chinook images are very nice. But overall for a post - too much I am afraid.
Re: ** NEON ART ** (pic heavy)
Oh no,
I like the idea, but too many photos. I like the idea, but needs exploring more
Not for me Im afraid, but great effort in trying new techniques

Re: ** NEON ART ** (lightened version)
I think modified aircraft pictures with "artistic" purposes should belong in a section of their own, we are used to see, in the "current military photography" section, untouched pictures of operational aircraft in their environment,, usually recent and news-oriented..
That's my one cent's worth ..

Agree, I hate them and don't want to see them in this section. Please can we reserve this section for real photo images and post everything else in another?

Re: ** NEON ART ** (lightened version)
No disrespect to Velvet Glove, but the original F15 photo would of been deleted or at most quickly flicked past without a second thought, but what he's done with it looks good to me, especially the pic i quotedOlicat wrote:Think I prefer the original(s)

Re: ** NEON ART ** (lightened version)
There's nothing technically wrong with it so I wouldn't have deleted it, besides, that it isn't Velvet Gloves photo and the original (not in this thread) is higher res and not cropped as much
It's all down to personal taste, I dislike what most people call 'artistic editing' (inverting colours, neon lines e.t.c) but that's just me, and as is evident - other people do like it

Would you mind taking those down please? I did see your PM request, but didn't have time to reply over the weekend.Velvet Glove wrote:Photo “Art”
I thought I’d post this in response to [hotdog]’s “Neon Art” thread, which as [terryd] so aptly said “Seem's like you've discovered a Marmite subject here !!”
I [personally] don’t think Current Military Photography is the appropriate section to post such “pictures” in but there are strong mixed feelings about it. Perhaps there could be a “Photo Art” thread where people who like such things (and I DON’T mean that to sound negative) could show and share their work, .. Mods? / Others?
There are some fantastic photos posted on FC which no one, anywhere, can better and I think we are ALL very appreciative of that. To be hit with a line of “black” doesn’t do it for me, however perhaps something a little ‘lighter and/or softer’ might work more for those who are somewhat ‘anti’ at the moment.
I’ve been cheeky and “borrowed” a pic of Danny’s from this thread ~
http://fightercontrol.co.uk/forum//view ... 16&t=84568
And had a play with ‘one’ of them to show some variations (below). Although having done so I don’t think I’m likely to do any more in a hurry as I don’t have any real skill / flare for it, or any fancy, purchased photo editing software, ~ only some donkey’s year old “free and cheerful” stuff.
I do though LIKE to see what other people can do to jazz-up what might be an otherwise quite plain (no pun intended) picture, especially colour / BW mixes within the ‘same’ picture.
Well, must fly, .. VG
I appreciate you asking me first, but shouldn't you wait for a reply before re-posting?

Re: ** NEON ART ** (lightened version)
I agree with what has been mentioned - to have a seperate section for people who enjoy this type of thing. It's great now what you can do on a computer - all these different effects - but they need to be in their own 'art' section.
