Excellent picture post from Lajes. You are certainly a long way from anywhere but a vital stop off point for the transit flights. You must get a fantastic aircraft variety and rarities!

Great shots and great you live out that way. BTw that DHC-7 is probably US Army ARL - / Grizzly Hunter. The original Army Recon Low - Grizzly Hunters DHC-7 were painted in red stripes and white all over over , kinda reminding me that it looks like TWA colors of yesterday!!
