My Falklands Holiday-Image heavy

Post by AdrianSmith » Thu Jan 10, 2013 8:08 pm

I was "lucky" enough to spend Sep-Jan in the Falklands working, so taking advantage of my position I took some photos of the place as its not something you'd normally see on here, hope you enjoy them.

Battle of Britain was celebrated with a flypast in the setting sun.

What a really nice set Adrian and great to see something different :thumb:
It's easy to forget about the sunny Falkland Isles and a great reminder that our boys and girls are still busy all over the world.
Thanks for the post
Cheers

How times have changed.....I got hauled over the coals for taking photos at MPA back in 1998-99.

Great set, brings back memories of the Death Star, The Lot and the mighty, mighty 78 Sqn!

Thanks. :thumb:

Ha. Remember that when I was there......we'd had Xmas Eve in the Lot, so suitably hungover Xmas Day, the Boss says "Get in the back, one of the Chinny boys can cover the desk"....cue me barfing over Santa's feet......there wasn't much goodwill after that......

I thought I'd seen the back of FI after leaving the tanker fleet!
Seeing a VC-10 on the pan was always welcome (especially if your replacement was on board).
A great set to view, - do miss the old F3 though :(
