Lossiemouth -' BOB' A real aeroplane

Post by za147vc10 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 9:42 pm

Hi All
With all the excitement of exercise Joint Warrior and the associated aircraft, I'm pleased to say
a real aeroplane visited Lossiemouth today, with apologies to the crew of the P8 and those visiting
the base to see it , nothing compares to one of these ......make the most of them while you can..
XR808 (BOB) visits Lossiemouth .

For a plane that came into service way back in the 60's, it still looks way futuristic. I flew on a few of these when I was in the RAF, and although they are much the same inside as any other airliner, as you walk out to board, it always looked impressive, not like the flying tubes in use now. A quick check, and I flew out to Belize on this aircraft in 1981. :O

Agree with the "get them while you can sentiment" and thanks for these. ;)

The days of Rolls Royce Conways are limited. :(
