Merlin magic at RAF Valley

Post by GWJPhantom » Tue Feb 28, 2012 5:26 pm

Well off to the local today RAF Valley to be welcomed by more bad weather 500' cloudbase and drizzle with no base flying, however as I arrived I could not believe my luck as a pair of Navy Merlins arrived for a hot re-fuel,

They used the 19 threshold to arrive and depart and as anyone who knows this base will tell you that if your in the spotters carpark here you are darn close and with 300mm strapped on it was a bit tight to say the least, these beasts are a bit big to say the least!

Great stuff Gareth, the old rabbits foot strikes again I see.
Bet you were well chuffed to see those arriving.
I was taking the dog around the perimeter on Sunday, reminiscing, when the only things flying were Oystercatchers and a Sea King.
Cheers Bob.
