Mi-17 N175RU

Post by Growlerwaxer » Sat Oct 08, 2011 8:37 pm

Scaring the living daylights out of the surfers and swimmers - never mind the holidaying spotter - was this Mil, flying below 500 feet along the north Florida coast.

Image

After dark, a cammo example was twice seen flying lights off in the company of a white example with lights on.

It's a cracker...
One of 23 x Hips the company have in the USA but at various locations (Delaware, Florida, California, Nevada and Maryland).
Kazan Helicopters which built this example states it is an Mi-8MTV-1 and the serials reflect this too, as all 5 of the Mi-8MTV-1's have their serials end in "RU". The others are Mi-17V5 and Mi-172 variants.
