Iniochos - the Greeks

I heard a few complaints about Iniochos this year - the morning backlighting, the absence of some of the highlights from the afternoon mission etc. But, frankly, I loved it. Especially the last couple of hours where some of the most beautiful Hellenic assets took to the skies in perfect light. That alone made it worth the trip for me

Lovely set of images. The F-4s are the obvious highlights for me.

Thanks Dan. Yeah, 10 F4 take offs in one day was pretty special!

Excellent set, great a/c, great backdrop, great weather and all well taken. Can’t believe you say that people were complaining. Do people not realise it’s a live exercise and not an airshow. Hopefully those that complain find somewhere else to go and let those that appreciate the lengths the HAF go to to accommodate a couple of hundred spotters to enjoy it, not only by being on base but in areas you wouldn’t have the chance to be in under normal circumstances anywhere else.

One day I’ll get there, but unfortunately Springtime isn’t the easiest for me.🙁

Couldn't agree more. With over one thousand spotters on base, I can see why the Greeks didn't switch locations part-way through the day!

Lovely set,

As much as I appreciate the rarity of F4's these days... Rafa for me!

Great job, thanks for sharing, really enjoyed them

Kev

Most sane people would say that when the Greeks have the temerity to charge to attend the spottersday, the least they could do is move people around to ensure the sun is behind them for the bigger morning launch.

The Turkish Air Force manage to do it right...

Nice shots, but you shouldn't pay to be sat facing the sun for half the day.

Obviously we're all entitled to our opinions. However I think Waddington charging £25 for entry to the Cobra Warrior enthusiast event containing 2(?) aircraft perhaps warrants the description of temerity. The Greeks charging slightly more for Iniochos compares rather favourably in my book.

Nice set. I was intending to go but I got screwed by the change of date as I couldn't change mine. At least I got a bit of low level so it wasn't a complete loss.
