Greek Independence Day Flypast 2025

Post by Mictheslik » Fri Apr 04, 2025 3:50 pm

I was fortunate to join the crowds of people on Mt Lycabettus last week to watch the annual independence day flypast over Athens. In all honesty, I wasn't expecting much, due to the city heathaze and expected height and distance of the flypast. How wrong I was! We were lucky that it was a cloudy morning, so the air was clear, and many of the jets were low enough for some nice backdrops. A thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours.

There aren't many better opportunities to see the majority of the Greek inventory...

Nice set Michael. I also was on the Church top and enjoyed the impressive flypast- twice. Lots of pics to play with although one needed a big lens

Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?
