Alarm on the morning of Friday 11 October in the Vouraikos gorge in Kalavrita, as a British hiker lost consciousness and collapsed.

The unfortunate man was found and handed over to EKAB unconscious in a vineyard at "Portes" about 400 meters from the Diakopto - Kalavryta road.
The first information about how the tragic incident happened states that
a group of British and German hiking photographers went to the gorge to take pictures of the passage of fighter jets. They were the ones who called 112 to ask for help for the 67-year-old, while they tried to bring him back to life. He was taken to the place where the ambulance was and from there to the Kalavryta Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The exact causes of death will be shown by the forensic investigation that will follow, with the first indications pointing to pathological causes."
