RAF Coningsby 8.12.10 with a special Fly By

Post by flyingslug_0 » Wed Dec 08, 2010 10:02 pm

Hi All,
Had a great day out with Captain Scarlet (Thanks Rich for keeping us safe) also a big thanks to Jim for his banter. Shame Neil couldn't join us maybe next time. Wasn't very busy but it was very cold but we had a very special flyby by 7 Harriers they caught us by surprise as they didn't call up on the radio so I managed to get only a couple of snap shots. The light was great and the contrast with the snow and fading light at the end of the day was a joy to photograph. I wasn't going to include number 2 but after I'd cropped it it reminds me of an air to air.Sorry for the heavy posts but it is Christmas.......well almost

Very nice, great colours and great light.

These would really benefit though from being straightened.

Love the Sentinel climb out shot but the runway angle really spoils it :(

very nice.

The 7 eventually came back to Wittering, as did the Sentinel.

I wouldn't worry about the images - Elements 7 works wonders. Except when you aren't quick enough to focus and the a/c are at a great distance, they didn't call when they arrived at Wtrg either.

Keep trying

Quite a few of the aircraft are rotating.. But not by their own means.

Some lovely shots though, that light looks stunning!

Winter sun, you just can't beat it! Nice selection craig, as goose said, they could be a bit straighter but as it was so cold i don't blame you gor being a bit off balance!

Many thanks for the day out, not many aircraft but superb banter/company all day. :thumb:

Richard

ps - only just warmed up! :D

Captain Scarlet is indestructable, you are not! Remember this, do not try to imitate him.
