Last week we took the opportunity to visit Nörvenich Air Base for the SNAP exercise. This exercise is regularly conducted by the Luftwaffe and serves to practice the evacuation of German citizens or soldiers from crisis and war zones in connection with air operations. As the exercise takes place above and on the airbase it gives great opportunities for taking pictures.
Part of the exercise are, among other things, interception of a slow mover (A400M), defending the base from air attack and airborne assault.
Nörvenich is home to TLG31 flying the Eurofighter and temporarily to the Tornados of TLG33 while their base at Buchel is being modified. Apart from the A4's all the particpants took part from Nörvenich or made a stop for lunch.
