BigginHill Miscellany 14th July 2022

Post by johnwickenden » Thu Jul 14, 2022 7:19 pm

It's Thursday - It's Biggin Hill - it must be the Polish Criminal repatriation flight. A few photos of PLF280 - today operated by serial 015.

Also included are couple of things that definately don't qualify as current military, but - what the heck - I've included them anyway. One is a regular 'mover' whilst the other, sadly, hasn't moved for some considerable time.

Hope you enjoy

Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?

I've tried to get the RAF museum at Cosford interested in this Basset, but they were not interested. Which is a real shame.

I nearly popped up there today, but decided it was too hot. Regarding the Basset, many years ago the RAF Museum collection included XS770, but they sold it off in the late eighties. I remember that it was kept at St Athan as part of the station collection. They were allocated XS743, but that's been moved to Old Sarum, but on loan from RAFM. Thanks for sharing these.
