Hi all.

Seen last week at Sawtooth Dropzone Airstrip, SW of Eloy, AZ was this nicely painted UV-18 Twotter (Twin Otter) in D Day markings.

It was being used for parachute jumping from this remote airstrip along with its sister ship, callsigns Congo 64 & 65.

Nicely taken Stewart. You must have a nice source of intel. That place is truly on the road to nowhere.

Thanks for sharing these, a couple of nice machines. As said, somewhere quite remote and shows what can be found at these out of the way locations.

Fabulous scheme on that D-Day Twotter. Where is this aircraft based?

Hi Dan

This aircraft is used by The Wings of Blue (sometimes known as PTWOBs, and stands for "Parachute Team – Wings of Blue"), it's the parachuting unit at the United States Air Force Academy, near Colorado Springs, Colorado. The team operates as the 98th Flying Training Squadron, 306th Flying Training Group, Air Education and Training Command.

Hope that helps.
