Prestwick 19/20 Sept

Post by toom317 » Tue Sep 21, 2021 9:45 pm

Headed over to Prestwick on Sunday to get the Nigerian A29's. They didn't show, so a long boring day waiting for the Atlas to fly through. Also got a C17 on the ground. 3 Falcons arrived for the JMC. Back over on Monday for the Nigerians again, and again a no show from them. At least there was some decent military action with the JMC on, a C5 on the ground and 3 C17's arriving, one on a gas and go. A fair bit of action from the Falcons, and with the Hawk due out of service soon, 5 Hawks flew also.

First 2 pics from Sunday, the rest From Monday. The Travis C17 was on the ground on Sunday but blocked from view. It went out early on the Monday and I caught it later when it came back. Weather started to deteriorate mid afternoon onwards, C17 8194 arriving in the murk, but it had cleared a bit when it departed later in the afternoon.

Your day was not a total write-off then as you obtained some cracking shots.
I very much look forward to seeing all the impending Nigerian A-29 captures by all you talented photographers at Prestwick.
Thanks for sharing your pics
Best regards, Terry

Nice to see you again Mike. I'm hoping tomorrow or Saturday for them eventually coming, but I just know they'll come on a work day.

Nice set Danny and good to catch up...its been awhile! At least it wasn`t a complete waste, those Navy Hawks won`t be up here that many more times before they are gone i`d imagine!

A nice set and a good selection of types. If you call that a " long boring day" i could suggest a lot of worse alternative airfields to visit.

Target, the long boring day was the Sunday, when there was very little happening. Monday on the other hand was a pretty good day, despite the Nigerians not turning up.
