A day at Emmen airbase, Switzerland (Alpnach added, a day later)

Wednesday the 14th was a good day weather wise. Also, a day of good flying. Some of the results of that day.

As few more of that afternoon. The PC-21s were taken at Dubendorf the same day, but they returned later to Emmen.

Thanks for sharing these, at one time I used to get out to Switzerland once a year, in the days of Vampires, Venoms, Hunters and Mirages. Not having been for such a long time reminds me that once it's safe, I should really try to make the effort to go again.

Great shots of the F5 and Emmen is a great base to shoot at.
Nice to know where J-3093 currently is operating from, it's one of my last 2(J-3074 the other)

Missed my regular Swiss visits.

thank you all.
the movements were great that day.
4 waves by 5 PC-7's
4 waves by 4 hornets AND 2 F-5s
1 wave QRA, 2 Hornets
2 pc-6s flew
RUAG had testflights of a Super Puma, F-5F and PC-21
at the end of the day the 5 PC-21's from Dubendorf returned to Emmen

so in the end, i only posted VERY few photos of that day :)

What a great location and set of images.
Clear, sharp and colourful.
What is the significance of the STBY 121.50 markings on the undertanks?

121.5 is the international emergency freq. So if you are intercepted on a QRA etc that's what they want you to use as radio freq. Its used on other airforces jets too.

I agree with the previous comments ..... I also agree with paddyboy as F-5's are indeed beautiful little birds. Thanks for sharing your great pics :thumb:

One more edit from Emmen...

The 15th of July, the morning we spent at Alpnach. Only 3 types flying, but still awesome.

Very nice couple of days. No sun at Alpnach though, but at least some aircraft were seen.
