Meiringen Switserland

Post by rf104g » Wed Sep 23, 2020 3:51 pm

Hi

Spent some time in Switzerland during the last wiederholungskurs at Meringen.
With enough action by the different type of the Swiss Air Arms and time to try some other spots then the usual.

All in all a enjoyable time spend at Meringen, sorry for the big post just to many to choose from :halo:

Great set of shots. Nice to see F-5s and the great view from high above the base. Really interesting to see the Hugo Wolf Sim.

Hugo Wolf sim never heard of that before or seen.
What's used for? It's not a firefighting trainingsaid although it looks it used for that in the picture.
Second one at Payerne?

Great shots. :thumb: Love the place. Have to go back soon....

It's a rescue trainer, it's basically an F-18 with concrete for engines. Weighs the same as a Hornet, electronically it's a Hornet (fully working cockpit, etc) and provide reduce services the ability to train on a "live" jet without using an actual aircraft. They don't seem to set them on fire or cut them though!

Meiringen seems to have grown into your local Ron. Especially since we don't get to go where we wanted to be this summer.... Glad you made it back in one piece from the gallery
