Took the 1.5 hour drive to Nörvenich yesterday to catch the Israeli F-16s.
What an amazing day that was.
The police was clearly present, with a bus, car or motorcycle driving by at least once every 5 minutes.
Why they were so actively present is a big mystery to me, as the only thing I've seen them do is telling people to remove their stairs from nearby the fences, while they didn't even mention corona rules a single time!
I was at the fence all day and it wasn't busy there until the C-130 departed, when litterally hundreds came to that 1 single spot with not even 10cm distance of eachother. If one of them happens to have corona I can GUARANTEE you next week at least 100 spotters will... I'm kinda upset that the police was sooo soo easy with this, but anyway, here are my pics (it's a long one)

Yep it was, the serial used to be on the lower part of the tail and on just behind the cockpit windows, but they were nowhere to be seen.
Some people said it should still be visible on the inside of the stairs, but whoever has those sharp (as the aircraft was halfway down the runway with the tail towards us and lots of heathaze) can call himself extremely lucky
The serial from ads-b is the only thing we can rely on really

Great photo's Zonan...you were a bit closer than I was, but I wanted to avoid the "crowd " at the fence line. No Covid risk but a lot of angry wasps

Nice pictures! Sorry but I can't help it and have to comment... Please don't blame the Police for the spotters not keeping distance of each other... I can hear the outcry if they would have enforced that.

You are all adults to make your own decision.

Nice pictures. Try my luck tomorrow. It was mentioned making groundshots was impossible due to a inner fence but looking at your pictures it looked like a hoax.

I get your point, but if you see it from my side: i woke up at 5 AM to make sure to have a good spot and all 3 of us put kept distance all day. As soon as an aircraft started to roll to the runway, suddenly all 200 people from the other side came running to us and pretty much pushed us away to get their shots and if we tried saying something they either ignored us or said we were selfish to "claim" a spot...
Is it really that hard for people to not make that 1 photo on the ground for once and keep the distance? I mean, they chose to stand in a field and not at the fence in the first place, and now I'm the selfish one because I didn't go to another spot? But I guess no one's perfect.
Regarding police, sure the people should be adult enough, but it's still their job to at least warn them that they may fine people if they keep ignoring the distance rules. You can actually compare it to police at a junction ignoring someone driving through the red light, both are illegal and both are dangerous to other people... (althpuoh those are the rules in the netherlands, i'm not 100% sure they are exactly the same in germany)

The inner fence is quite a joke, the only parts where they put that, was at the parts where there is already a hedge

Absolutely Paddy! Maybe it's me age? These days I just can't be arsed with deployments anymore, they're too crowdy now and there are too many idiots who spoil it.
