Lossie Typhoons Divert/Bolthole to Kinloss 11/08/20

Post by Jonay » Tue Aug 11, 2020 5:05 pm

They were planned to come over at some point this week anyway for the bolthole whilst the runway at Lossiemouth is getting strengthened/resurfaced. JEDI flight diverted due to the haar coming in over Lossiemouth - made a few attempts to land with poor vis at Lossiemouth before bugging out and landing at an almost clear Kinloss only 15km away. You can see in one of the photos that the haar is starting to come in over the trees and hangars in the background.

As I posted on the local spotters group:
ZK368 (2Sqn Marked jet)
ZK322
ZK426
ZK336 (1Sqn marked jet)

I think it was group member "Bluetail" that was with me at the time, nice chatting :thumb:

I have no idea the plans for the rest of the jets coming over from Lossiemouth - these were the first four to arrive.
