Valley (19 end) 30th July

Post by roughcutter » Sat Aug 01, 2020 5:06 pm

Had a cracking day here last Thursday, when I arrived early the caravan was parked at the runway 19 threshold. I was quite shocked to see the new high picket fence erected there (used to be a friendlier low ranch style fence), changing times we live in I guess. Still at least you can still achieve a decent shot of the threshold from the gentle slopes of the embankment there. Then regrettably I missed the MC-130 shooting circuits after getting took short and had to scarper off to Holyhead services to find a loo. Why are there are still no toilets at Valley :@ ? If you haven't come by car then I suggest if you get took short to pack a spade and do a gypsy, there's plenty of sand dunes about (look out for the snakes) :whistle: Anyway on my return the threshold had changed to 13 (suicide hill), which was rammed with tourists with nowhere to park, so ended up down the back lane other side of the runway, a little further away from the action admittedly but a great spot for taxiing Texans;

Top set Mark :clap: Some nice shots of the Texans, good work :thumbs: I am hoping to get across to Valley to get a look at the Texans once this mad holiday rush has finished & Wales has re-opened in full :unsure:

Just a quickie off the aircraft subject, love your Avitar :clap: From a great film and reminds of school back then. We had a PE teacher like that, thought he was George Best :lol: :lol: They knew how to develop character in a lad back in those days :lol: :thumbs:

Thanks for posting :thumb:

Cheers for the feedback guys. I had already put this thread up yesterday, but it some how failed to connect, hence the duplicate thread🙂
