The Hunter becomes the hunted - HHA Hunter deploys to RNAS Yeovilton

Post by Seacat192 » Wed Jul 22, 2020 1:44 pm

I posted a couple of photos of the HHA Hunter after my first successful trip to Yeovilton, but there were several trips before and after that day , where the Hunter didn't fly but the based aircraft and some visitors gave ample opportunity to get photographs.

Sorry for the amount of photos in this post, but I tried to give a representation of the aircraft movements I've seen in my recent visits to Yeovilton in pursuit of the Hunter.

Hope you liked my choices. C&C welcome.

Are the Harvard and Chipmunk based there? Great shots.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

I believe they live the Navy Wings hangar, happy to be corrected though.

Thanks.

The Hunter is attracting a lot of attention, judging the number of people in Pyle Lane yesterday.

At one stage yesterday afternoon, I counted 15 cars parked up

Hi Seacat192

Fantastic photos... that Hunter is very smart indeed and you've caught to spot on, my favourite is the underside shot.

Do you by any chance take serials or maybe from your photos you could I'd the following...

On Tuesday the 21st... there were two Wildcats at 15.00pm parked up out side the hangars near the Museum, these were behind ZZ514 and ZZ377 as you look across from the viewing area and also two more Wildcats that were parked beside ZZ408 at the other side of the field.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi T1

Thanks for your comments.

Unfortunately, I took my photos on Tuesday from the far side of the airfield, in relation to the Museum ramp area.

If it’s any use, I could go through my photos and list the serials of the Navy Wildcats that ventured over to the south side - they usually depart and return on the closest runway to the ramp - 04.

Let me know if that’s any help to you.

I doubt that there ever has been, or will ever be, a better looking military jet than the glorious Hunter!.

Terrific set

That Hunter belly shot ( pardon the expression!) Is well worthwhile. What a graceful plane
