Fat Albert and friends at Cambridge 7th July 2020

Post by Blue Diamond » Thu Jul 09, 2020 10:24 am

Popped over to Cambridge in the hope of getting a shot of the Blue Angles' new C-130J. Rewarded by a couple of shots of her on the compass platform. Light could have been better though.

Never saw this one in service so just a record shot really. Must go back for the Kuwaiti C-130.

Presume this is in for maintenace.

Nice catch with the Blue Angels Herc. I wonder if it will ever come back over to the UK with the rest of the team?

We can but hope. At the moment though I'll settle for catching it on a test flight in sun. :)

Interesting pics, good to see and thanks for posting. Would love to catch the Angel's C-130 in the air. Hopefully they'll be some test flying, bit of a heads up, and I'll be free- Fat Albert fat chance of all that coming together but fingers crossed!

Thanks for posting the pics, they brought back memories of when I had a flight deck ride with Albert during the Reno Air Races airshow, I even had a JATO as well. :)

That Blue Angels Herc really looks stunning - fingers crossed we have the opportunity to shoot it in the air over the coming weeks. Thanks for posting.

Can anyone advise how long Fat Al ert is due to be at Cambridge? I'm planning at trip up to LN this week....is she still likely to be there?
Its gonna rain, its gonna rain till the levee breaks, a tidal wave of fear and pain washes us away, another fight into the night until nothing else remains, how do we find harbour from the Hurricane?

Hi John, I have no idea how long it is going to be at Cambridge (it hasn't flown yet as far as I am aware) but just be advised it appears to be hangared most of the time.

Popped over to Cambridge on Tuesday in the hope of catching Fat Albert in the air but when I saw it sitting there with it's rudder removed, I knew my luck was out. Did engine runs on Friday though and the rudder was back on. Hoping for test flights this week.
