Looks like the windows and other non-painted areas have been masked ready for a paint job.

Trust me, if it was going for a paint job it would be properly masked

Tend to agree, going for a clean. If it was to be painted it would need to be rubbed down and prepped BEFORE masking up.
Looks like all possible holes are covered to stop water ingress.
First time I’ve seen one of Mildenhall’s CV22 with the ‘wings’ folded too.

I also posted this up on the Mildenhall / Lakenheath facebook page and got a definitive response from someone on the other side of the fence. - it's a cleaning job.
