Coningsby Burners and Chutes

Post by LTFT5 » Fri Feb 07, 2020 2:01 pm

Hi to all,
Last day out for me for awhile but I had a great time at the fence.
Light was awesome and there was also plenty of movements.
All taken on the 06/02/20 at RAF Coningsby from various vantage points.
Thanks to all the guys I spoke to yesterday for the company.

Just one sad note a car crashed into the back of another at the Langrick Road traffic lights as the aircraft where landing.
I hope the older lady travelling in the car is now feeling ok.

Whilst out and about I decided to shoot the 617 memorial at Woodhall Spa as well.

Hopefully something for everyone in the shots posted.

All the best

Absolutely cracking shots Andy, some stunning light there too! :D

Definitely convincing me to get back up - love the head on Typhoon and the 41SQN turning off :thumb:

Great pics, thanks for sharing. Is that a Lightning taken up residence in the new shelters? :Wow:

Thanks for the kind comment.

The Lightning you see is actually an F6 XS897 which is on loan to 29 Squadron.
She has been painted silver, marked up in 29 squadron markings and given the tail code XP765 A (XP765 was an F.3)
A small belly tank was added to make her look like an F.3 (29 Squadron did not fly the F.6)

All the best

Lovely set, 9 is an interesting shot. 11 and 12 are the standouts for me with the best light.

The last one is a very thought provoking place. Visited a few times when at Coningsby.
