Operation Deep Freeze Christchurch NZ
The 139th AS New York ANG makes it's annual southern hemisphere summer deployment to Christchurch New Zealand at this time of year. Usually joined by C-17As from the 62nd AW to support the USA's Antarctic operation named Operation Deep Freeze. Caught a couple of LC-130Hs on camera during a quick visit on 11th November:

Very nice
There was one at Paris airshow where the crew were saying the quieter smoother upgraded engines means they can now hear what each other is saying!

Nice catch, not seen one of these in years!
Do these have different engines or just different spinners to regular C130s?
I know the older models had 4 blades, the J models have 6 but this one has 8, looks similar to an A400?
Mike
EDIT:
Just reading AFM and it has an article on the squadron, H model engines with a NP2000 upgraded prop.
