Final batch of Hellenic Air Force 338 Mira Phantom images added 30/11/19

Hi

I recently returned from a COAP Media assignment to the Hellenic Air Force base at Andravida, working with 338 Mira and their wonderful Phantoms. We also spent a little time with the Hellenic Air Force Fighter Weapons School.

Here are a few of my images from the first day. I have plenty from the second day, if you would like to see more.

I can see the last 5 (which are excellent) but the others have grey/white 'No entry' signs instead of photos.

Thanks for the heads-up chaps.

I'm hosting the images on Google Photos. I wonder if that is the cause? As a matter of interest, I can see all the images on my two Android devices and my W10 laptop, so am rather puzzled!

I remember as a kid on holiday in Crete, seeing 4 Phantoms fly low along the beach, it's a memory that's stayed with me.

I recently asked a friend why he was such a Phantom "phan", and his explanation was much like your memory, except his experience was in the the Welsh valleys.

The recruiting adverts showing Phantoms in the valleys pushed me into the RAF recruiting office in 1983. The recruiting sergeant was not impressed with the 18 year old who had no intention of going to university...

Thanks for the kind words. We were very fortunate to get unlimited access to the base. All the HAF personnel that we met were incredibly open and friendly.
