Took a drive up to Donna yesterday, the weather forecast was excellent and with the flare trials NOTAMed I thought it was worth a punt. Had forgotten that it's seal season- spent the day with a stream of hundreds of people looking at me and the other few aviation enthusiasts present as if we were nuts. We are, of course. Fun trivia reward if you've made it this far- Donna Nook was named after a Spanish Galleon, the 'Donna' which ran aground here in 1588- part of the scattered remnants of the Armada. Who knew? Not me, until I read an Information board yesterday.
