Legacy Ladies - Nose Arts of the 100th Air Refuelling Wing
Hello All,
As you all know the 100th ARW, RAF Mildenhall started the process of applying nose arts to their KC-135R aircraft helping to keep the legacy of the Square D legacy alive.
Here are images of the current artworks being flown and if you would like further details click in the link in the signature block.
Hope these are of interest..
Gary
Thanks for looking

Just had a look at them on your Flickr page Gary, a fine tribute to the 100th ARW and the history behind them.
Cheers.

Great shots, I climbed aboard "Holy Terror" at the RAF Marham airday back in July, and got the nose art patch to match. On the hottest day of the year the wings made for an excellent place to get some shade

Great post. Nose art obviously alive and well in USAF, unlike the RAF where it seems to have been outlawed. Seem to recall a Bone called the Reluctant Dragon in the mid '90s. Just a thought, but Bigasbird seems to be missing an S!

Nice pictures Gary, and as it has been said already, Great thread!!
Re: Legacy Ladies - Nose Arts of the 100th Air Refuelling Wing
Thanks everyone for interest in the images and kind comments.
There was indeed a B-1B named Reluctant Dragon and I believe it is still current in the fleet, 86-0103 from the 7th BW, Dyess AFB, Texas.
With regards to BigGasBird, this is very fitting play on the name original 'Big Ass Bird', B-17F 42-30799/ XR-L flown by the 349th BS/100th BG.
