3 Sundays @ Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport

Post by jalfrezi » Thu Jul 25, 2019 7:13 pm

As part of my US trip in March we visited this airport on 3 consecutive Sundays as there is always a good chance of catching some military aircraft, either stopping overnight, or coming in to refuel.

Lovely set. And you sneaked in the unpainted Bombardier Global 7500 prototype behind the T-38.

Great set of shots, I was also there on your first two Sundays, as you state a super place to visit at weekends.

Great shots Nick, by the look of the static shots you must of had ramp access?.
Cheers.

Yep, that sneaked in on the back of something military! :)

Did you travel with friends, or as part of a tour group?

Nope, no ramp access, though to be fair the ramp is literally right next to a public area, so you just need to shoot through the fence - a small step helps!

I traveled out there for three weeks, with three friends, covering several States, including Arizona Nevada and Washington.

Awesome set, the Hawks are stunning in those schemes and it's a while since I've seen a CH53. Thanks for sharing

Very nice! Great selection of aircraft.
May the skies be clear and blue and the wind fair with a guiding star to steer by.

I use Canon gear, mainly a 5DIII and 7DII with 24-105 and 100-400mm lenses.
