Sad day, but at least she is not being scrapped.

First Tornado I ever saw up close at the Marham photo op day in May last year.

Where is her resting place?

As it stands she is to become a gate guard at Lossie replacing the aging ZA475

ZA463 was 028, I’m guessing the fin off 046 was removed before the fuselage was destroyed.

Yeah very strange to see the fin of ZA554 on the fuselage of ZA463! I imagine will cause confusion in the years to come....

Confused with this as I saw this aircraft (046 - ZA554) back in April as it was being put in a HAS.

ZA554 has a sad and chequered history. The aircraft was initially to be displayed as the lossie gate guard.

However the aircrafts history made it not ideal so it has been swapped for ZA463.

The fin off 046 was saved, the fuselage has been recycled.

Job No.2: roll it up, put in a box and send to you Patrick so you can ceremonially burn it! This year we have the NATO Ann. one. Anyone like to hazard a guess as to what next year's will be?

Was the 028 fin also scrapped along with the 046 fuselage?
