Second Cell of 493rd returning home

Post by James Cutting » Sat Jul 13, 2019 10:03 pm

Just a small one from me, made a quick trip over to Lakenheath to catch the 5 493rd F-15C's returning from their deployment. Was a good excuse to try out the new lens (Canon 100-400mm MK2) before RIAT  Light not great, but good to see the Grim Reapers back home. Enjoy

Hi James

Great set of shots... looks like the new lens is giving good results... can't beat a bit if practice... especially when the subject matter is an F15C Reaper 😁.

Looking forward to RIAT to... hope you have a great day.

Regards.

Thank you mate! Yes, looking forward to using it more, and agree - nothing better than to first use it on a Reaper

Me too, enjoy yourself :D

Nice set of photos.

But does anyone know why the F-15Cs are carrying what look like Sniper pods?
Have they been engaging in mud moving?

Never mind, explanation found in Nick's post here viewtopic.php?f=16&t=178105&sid=51c69cf ... 3#p1103418.

(AN-AAQ-33 Sniper pod fitted to assist with long range ID, for the lazy).
